The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department has a long standing history of educating our youth in safe firearm handling and ethics.  As a service to the community, deputies of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Department teach the mandatory Louisiana Hunter Education Certification course.  This is a ‘live fire’ class approved by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the International Hunter Education Association.

This class must be completed and passed by anyone born on or after September 1, 1969, to purchase a Louisiana Hunting License.  Students must attend all class sessions to receive a Louisiana Hunter Education Certificate.  There is no charge for the class, and all materials will be furnished by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Class size is limited to 50 students.  All classes will be held at on the Louisiana Tech campus or the at Lincoln Parish Fire District training facility.  To pre-register or for more information, call the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Department at 318-513-6330.

The 2009 schedule will be posted here when available.  Classes are typically held from July to November.
