Education Schedule
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department has a long standing history of educating
our youth in safe firearm handling and ethics. As a service to the
community, deputies of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Department teach the
mandatory Louisiana Hunter Education Certification course. This is a ‘live
fire’ class approved by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and
the International Hunter Education Association.
This class must be completed and passed by anyone born on or after September 1,
1969, to purchase a Louisiana Hunting License. Students must attend all
class sessions to receive a Louisiana Hunter Education Certificate. There
is no charge for the class, and all materials will be furnished by the Lincoln
Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Class size is limited to 50 students. All classes will be held at on the
Louisiana Tech campus or the at Lincoln Parish Fire District training facility.

typically held from July to November.
